Forming An Opportunity Belief

My Belief The misinformation age has reached an all-time high. The political world has opened the doors for misinformation to spread faster and become more manipulative due to the current division between political parties cultures, beliefs, and greed today. The Unmet Need The unmet need is having access to an unbias tool or resource to fact check and confirm the information provided in the news story in real-time. Everything that readers come across must be double and triple checked before confirming whether the story is true or not. Right now, most readers tend to be lazy and not research further or are forced into triple checking the information several times (which can become tiring). The Prototypical Customer  The prototypical customer is people who are on social media, work in politics or are heavily involved in current events that doesn't have the knowledge on misinformation and its repercussions. The Interviews  A total of three people were asked questio...

Identifying Local Opportunities

5 Local Opportunities Derived from Issues  Metromover beats monorail for riders to Miami Beach, but costs more. Worth it? *  Article Link   The city of Miami is debating whether the new county-funded transit proposal should be built due to its high cost. The new route headed toward Miami Beach would generate 13,600 trips per day as opposed to the monorail that generates 8,900 trips a day. The issue in this story is the high cost of $630 million to build. This problem is directed at the city of Miami and the taxpayers who will eventually provide the funds for the new system.    Broward nursing home workers say Rick Scott destroyed evidence after hurricane deaths *  Article Link  Two healthcare workers charged with aggravated manslaughter are asking for their case to be dismissed after blaming ...

My Entrepreneurship Story

Image
My parents are a bit old-fashioned: they weren't studious people or looked forward to  college education, so they took their own career route. As a kid, I witnessed my family struggle first hand, jumping from odd-end jobs to make ends meet. There was nothing worse than seeing my father come home after a long day of work to see the energy depleted from his face from all the stress that day. This ultimately led my father to drop everything one day and become an entrepreneur by opening up his own home inspection business.  18 years later, the company is going strong, and he's at the most successful point in his career. The best part about having your own entrepreneurial endeavor is not having to worry about a boss breathing down your neck. You create the rules, the schedule, the investments, and however much effort you want to put into it. Watching my father's success as an entrepreneur and breaking the mold, motivates me to do the same. And so, this course is something I...

Bug List

We all have those day to day pet peeves that crawl under our skin. This is my official Bug List (that is most likely set to change in a week). Here are 20 things that bug me and the reason they exist:  1. The overly crowded metro system in Washington D.C. during peak work hours. It's so easy to bump into people and make everyone uncomfortable.    * The Metro system is the cheapest form of travel -- creating an influx of people. 2. The water hammer noise my toilet makes while the water runs. It's so loud that the pipe shakes and creates enough noise to wake up the neighbors.    * The apartment building has issues with the water supply system that affects the toilets. 3. When people stand on the wrong side of the escalator and hold up those trying to get to work.  * Tourists aren't familiar with the unwritten rule, such as this one, as well as handicapped that can't do much movement. 4. When my apartment complex gym gets equipment stolen, so i...
