29A – Venture Concept No. 2
Opportunity:
I was able to identify an audience in the city who have longer work schedules and can't afford to take the time to travel to fitness centers. There are also plenty of people who are dedicated to working out in a private setting instead of having to go into a crowded fitness center after a long day of work. Being in the nation's capital with a constant struggle of dealing with current events means many people don't want to take their time to find centers that properly fit their needs without having to worry about paying top dollar for spare equipment, pool, classes, and other unnecessary items they don't have time for/need in their daily lives. This is where my entrepreneurial idea comes into play to provide them with a mobile gym service that includes a specifically made system for each client, including a meal plan, and whatever equipment needed to fit their schedules and their daily regimen.
Innovation:
Being that most fitness centers in the city already force you to pay top dollar for equipment that you don't need, my concept involves specific meal plans, workout plans, and a flexible schedule suited to the client's preference. A package that takes several different services and payment plans in a typical gym will be packaged into one to satisfy each customer's needs differently and together at once. In addition, all equipment will be carried in a container that will only be used by a specific group of clients. One set of clients can request just dumbells and barbells, while others simply want jump ropes and a mat for an ab-routine. While some fitness centers charge almost $200 in the city, my services will provide different levels - depending on how much or little they are looking for - of pricing and can range anywhere from $50 to $100 a month.
Venture Concept:
The service I would be offering to customers is a mobile gym service. This would help those who are constrained on time and or don't want to travel long distances to find the right fitness center to them. I would be bringing the center to their home or place of choice. This means equipment, personal training, and diet regimens compacted into one. Depending on the client, I would most likely just bring a set of tools and weights in a container instead of dragging along larger machines that will take up time and space. Aside from people who are short on time, age group is irrelevant. This could be a full-on family workout or it could pertain to a senior citizen who wants that extra kick in their life.
This will help them better manage customers' time and do more than simply spending time driving in traffic or debating whether they should even go in the first place. This isn't an ordinary mobile center, but one that differentiates itself by including diet plans combined with fitness schedules and state of the art equipment.
The plan is simple. Through social media or a website, customers can choose their location, time, and build their plan out through the website. After they complete the form and provide their contact information, they will be reached and go through an interview process to confirm this information and inquire about their overall goals, commitment and other questions that will depict the specific plan that will go with each personal client. Once the location and times are set up we conduct a free workout to make sure one last time that they are interested then a full list of options - either 2 months, 6 months, or a year contract will be signed for them to dedicate themselves to the regimen. The only difference between these contracts and fitness center contracts is that there is no complicated process in order to cancel. If you want to quit and try something else, the client can do as they please.
Minor Elements:
My most important resource will be my social capital. Being that I am in connection with a lot of friends and former colleagues who are heavily involved in the fitness industry will help me move forward and grow in times of need and whenever I have an emergency question. It is also best to begin marketing my business and attract as many clients as possible throughout the process. There is a mix of connections, from personal trainers to managers, to owners of fitness centers that provide all of the guidance I need.
Next for my venture - I think I will continue building on this idea and attempt to open a similar concept, but I am not quite sure about keeping this as a mobile concept. Short term this seems like a great idea, but longer-term, I would either have to build the business with more trainers or open up a center. Otherwise, I would also like to get involved in a separate idea of tackling misinformation in this day and age - so something relating to the political field and media is a secondary route I may want to take.
Assuming I launched - I will most likely try to launch the secondary venture as previously mentioned or continue on the same route and open a bigger place to create a stronger brand across different locations that have similar attributes.
Feedback: Anybody who reads this post will notice that much hasn't changed from my previous concept due to the positive feedback received. However, my initial idea included driving around in a big vehicle and possibly having the gym equipment inside, but that would put a strain on my wallet and time, so it's best to keep the equipment part on the lighter side -- in a small container where I can squeeze into any vehicle -- and adjust the client's needs based on their overall goal.

Hey Joaquin, I found your business venture super interesting and think it is very promising. I agree that if it is going to be mobile that the equipment will need to be lighter in order to transport it everywhere. I also agree that if the business is growing how you hope, that you should hire other trainers to allow the same time slot to be available for multiple clients. These days they make resistance band sets that can be used on any door and you can do a full home workout with them. Equipment like that would be very useful in your business venture.
