9A – Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

Continuing My Opportunity Research
The interviews conducted were in regards to the unmet need of not having enough time and energy to travel to a fitness center before and after their job schedules.
Unfortunately, the overall interview process did not go as planned. To my surprise, three of the five interviewees did not agree with the idea that this was an unmet need. Their general belief was that they had fitness centers close enough to them that they didn't have to worry about the issue. However, when I would press them and asked questions like "tell me what your day-to-day schedule is like, and what times do you go to the gym?" two of the three had a wacky schedule that could definitely benefit from some sort of service. The other two interviews did agree that fitness centers were a bit far and there are days when they prefer to take the day off due to extra travel requirements and overall time. Three of the people interviewed work on Capitol Hill, while the other two were local neighbors. 90% of them worked in government, and one of them owned a personal business.
This opportunity that goes along with the unmet need is not as urgent as hunger, love, fashion, etc. This is more of a matter of convenience and being able to help those who are either lazy or who need better time management.
People who don't fit into the unmet need may have a better work schedule than those who are more desperate to fit their daily tasks into one day. Some people just prefer to do things on their own and wouldn't want an opportunity of having a fitness center come to them.
